By ministering in music, you are taking an active role in the assistance of community worship.  It is a myth that the Mass is a time for private prayer and devotion.  It is a time for public worship and must be celebrated with 100% participation and energy.  God has given gifts to all of us through our talents and abilities.  What we do with those talents is our gift back to God.  Share your gifts!!!

Music in all its styles and forms truly is the prayers of our hearts, hands, and voices all merged together as one.  At St. Cecilia's, we are committed to providing the highest quality music to accompany and highlight all aspects of the worship service.

OUR MISSION: We are committed to loving, inviting, and serving our congregation and community by improving the worship life at St. Cecilia Catholic Church through the music ministry.

• Enriches WORSHIP by leading the congregation in the music that is consistent with the reformed tradition and with the character of our historic congregation;
• Supports EDUCATION for people of all ages by offering workshops that inform, inspire, and equip God's people;
• Engages in EVANGELIZATION by witnessing to those outside our congregation through concerts, recitals, and other musical offerings, both in and throughout our sanctuary, that are consistent with our congregation's mission; and
• Supports opportunities for Christian FELLOWSHIP by supporting activities and programs sponsored by our church organizations and by welcoming and encouraging in the name of Christ all those who seek to serve God through music.

For many years the choir at St. Cecilia has provided the wonderful gift of music for the services of the church.  The choir consists of dedicated individuals who come to Tuesday night rehearsals for two hours (6:00pm - 8:00pm) and a warm up rehearsal 15 minutes prior to the 8:30am and 11:30am Masses each Sunday.  In addition, they sing for special services during the year, such as Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter.  We welcome new members to the choir at any time.

If you are interested, please feel free to contact the music minister Pamella Dukes-Russell or by showing up at one of the night practices.  If you are even thinking about sharing your talents with us, please come by.  We will certainly welcome anything you bring to this challenging ministry.
