SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DEPAULstvincentdepaul.jpg (79171 bytes)

The St. Vincent de Paul Conference was established at

St. Cecilia Catholic Church in 1930.

The mission of our St. Vincent de Paul Society is to service the poor and the needy in our community.  We attempt to reach out in friendship and with helping hands to those who are poor and suffering.

In the words of St. Vincent we believe " I must love love my neighbor as the image of God and the object of his love.  I must act in such a way that people love their creator and each other in mutual charity for the love of God who loved them so much that he delivered up his own Son to death for them.

FURNITURE:

Clients are eligible to receive furniture referrals for furniture from the St. Vincent de Paul stores every three (3) years.  St. Vincent de Paul charges the various conferences for the furniture they write referrals for, therefore the vincentian issuing the referral must be conscious of the financial state of the St. Cecilia Conference prior to issuing a St. Vincent de Paul furniture referral.

Furniture referrals can only be issued after a home visit has been completed.

UTILITIES:

St. Vincent de Paul has a program where funding is available for citizens 65 years of age and older.  The conference vincentian must request the proper forms for the client's use.

In the event the client experiences an interruption in their utility service or they receive a shut-off notice from the utility company, the client must first consult F.I.A. (Family Independence Agency) for assistance.  If assistance cannot be obtained through F.I.A. our conference vincentian can then assist the client by contacting the T.H.A.W. (The Heat and Warmth Fund) program.

Transportation Funding, Prescription payment assistance, police clearance (for employment purposes), replacing stolen or lost identification, etc...  These decisions are made at the discretion of the St. Cecilia Conference vincentian.
